I recently heard someone talking about men's and women's roles as mentioned in the book of Colossians chapter three. A comment was made about chauvinism and feminism, and I don't recall the comment... Read More »

Ode to Art

Where is art in the Christian heart,
Is there only faith or is science a part?
Why discrete spaces inside our being,
Why separate our ways of thinking and seeing?
God’s people have feared what art can do
Thinking a picture, a sculpture – taboo!
Some even will go so far as to say:
All your instruments, put them away!
Somehow we believed that reason is king
No more sensing, perceiving, or even feeling
Keep your feet on the ground, is said to the young man…

Newbie Blogger

So, after reading blogs for a while, I finally decided to take the plunge and start blogging - but I am still new to all this. So, If you have more than one blog - say, blogspot and myspace and M and .Mac, is it proper ettiquette to post the same entry on all blogs? Do you cater your blogs to the different audiences of each particular blog realm? Who really reads blogs anyway? Well, since today is synchro blog day, I guess I better mosey on over to my other blogs and start typing. Don't worry,…

Choices, choices, choices...

Do I blog on myspace, or M? Do I blog on blogspot or .Mac? Oh, and then there's voxtropolis - I haven't even signed up for a free blog there yet! So many choices, how does one choose? I believe our freedom to choose is one of the great mysteries of being created in the image of God. Sure, Adam and Eve made a poor choice that changed history and the world as we know it, but does that mean that choices are a bad thing? I would agrue heartily, no! For many years I viewed God's will as basically…

Hi, Pretty well--Stephen and I celebrated our 24th anniversary lately--that was an awesome time as my parents watched all 3 boys for a few days :-) My oldest is in public school for the first time and is having some trouble adjusting so we're praying about that. The other two and I start home school in a couple of weeks.
I read on your blog (got there from this page) about seminary--YOU GO GIRL. What will be your major area of study?
Horseback riding? so you know I'm jealous, right? LOL

Hi, I checked out the Kairos course site--very cool. What an awesome thing to be involved in.

My boys are 16 (a sr this year), 13 and 10. Thanks for asking about prayer. Actually, if need to find a dr who either knows something about this rare type of encephalitis or is willing to learn. He has another appt on Monday and we are hoping she will be willing to work with us.

Definitely begin the discussion and let me know when you do--that is a subject that interest me. I was just reading about Ruth Graham Bell and how where she grew up on the mission field. both genders worked together side by side--equals. I like that. Looking forward to joining in on such a discussion.

Any specific prayer requests for you? Do you have a deadline on the writing. Hope you have a great Sat. The other Elizabeth :-)

What kind of writing project? (if you can say). Well, My husband had a very rare type of encephalitis Jan 2006 and survived (again rare) but the "fallouts" are many so we have been spending a LOT of time at drs. Plus he's a youth pastor so there are loads of youth "stuff" to do--I truly need to "get on the ball" with home school (I still home school my younger two) and I'm enjoying my weekly scrapbook Bible study. Aren't you glad you asked? LOL Hope things are going well with you.
